Social Dance Night Join us for a Hot Salsa Night at 'The Base Bar & Nightclub' - located in the heart of Sol Square in Christchurch. Salsa On2 Class Start Date(s): Intermediate - Monday 8:30pm 23rd & 30th August (2 weeks drop in class only)

Salsa On2? Mambo is basically Salsa danced on the On2 count. This style of salsa dancing originated in New York and has taken the world by storm. Mambo has a very smooth feel to it compared to Salsa On1 "which we teach in all our normal Salsa Classes", you'll learn to dance to the On2 Rhythms & percussion, so come learn how to dance Salsa in a new & exciting way.

Intermediate Level Info: Aimed at those Improvers, Intermediate & Upper Intermediate & Advanced who already know Salsa On1 & know the conversion from On1 to On2. This is a more challenging level that uses Intermediate level combos & footwork to develop your On2 style & flow.
FREE On2 conversion intro to Mambo On2 at the Base on 19th August.

Salsa Class (Linear salsa On1) Bridge Course - This is a short 4 week supplemental course or a "bridge course" that is optional to take, we recommend taking this level either after Beginners 1 or as well as Improver Level. In a private lesson we go through all little details that we can not attend to in group classes along with any bad habits you may pick up along the way. Every individual has their own special needs but when you are in a group class there is no way of giving as much personal attention as we would like to give, this is why we recommend private lessons as well as classes & social dancing.

New Timing Salsa CD (2010) or Mp3 Set (2009) contains essential timing, rhythms & music for salsa dancers. it's for beginners to advanced levels. It contains counts so you can get used to stepping in time with salsa and give you not only music to practice to, but knowledge of how salsa music is constructed, so you can become a better dancer. Salsa Latina uses tracks in its classes, it will train your brain to stay in time. There is a total of 13 tracks and tempos ranging from slow to med paced songs and now includes a bonus cha cha percussion track.

Bonus Info - This is also a learning system, you will also be given a hidden link to this website that will give you information on how to use these tracks, this is to aid your learning on how the music is constructed and how to learn to dance in time and find that (on1) count.
