The famous Hot Springs Salsa yearly winter fest, with latin dance workshops in the afternoon & Salsa Party at Night. "Road Trip to Hanmer Springs"

Salseros from all around the New Zealand Christchurch, Dunedin, Westcoast, Blenheim, Nelson, Wellington, Wanganui & Auckland will combine this year and spend an awesome snowy winter weekend in Hanmer to move to the rhythms of Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Cha cha cha at the Hanmer Memorial Hall. So bring the kids and enjoy the treasures that Hanmer has to offer. Even though its often snowing it will be hot in the salsa hall and the hot pools... not to be missed!
This is a beautiful alpine village ...enjoy the hotpools.. It's also the first weekend of the school holidays, kids are welcome at the party, infact school kids are free entry.

When should I go to Hanmer? Most people will travel up and spend 2 nights in Hanmer, leaving Friday after work and staying the Friday & Saturday Night. Accommodation between a group is often very cheap, the average house to hire can work out as little as $20 per person per night. However some will travel up on the Saturday morning to make the workshops, while others will just travel to make the party and leave the same night without staying. We prefer to stay 2 nights so we can relax in the hot pools... you choose!

Salsa On2? Mambo is basically Salsa danced on the On2 count. This style of salsa dancing originated in New York and has taken the world by storm. Mambo has a very smooth feel to it compared to Salsa On1 "which we teach in all our normal Salsa Classes", you'll learn to dance to the On2 Rhythms & percussion, so come learn how to dance Salsa in a new & exciting way.

Intermediate Level Info: Aimed at those Improvers, Intermediate & Upper Intermediate & Advanced who already know Salsa On1 & know the conversion from On1 to On2. This is a more challenging level that uses Intermediate level combos & footwork to develop your On2 style & flow.

You can join on week#1 on any of these sections as you finish Improver levels. Once you have completed all of the sections in' any' order you may be able to progress to the Upper Intermediate level on Monday at 8:30pm

Social Night - Totally Fun filled & Hot. Drink and dance the night away. Every Thursday night . Come down and have a look, a drink and have a dance! Anyone can come, this night is for everybody at all levels, dancers and non-dancers. Great atmosphere, great dance floor and sound system. Get some space on the dance floor - come down earlier from 8:30pm-9:30pm there is plenty of space to dance, then from 10pm onward its usually very busy.
Music & DJ - Top DJ (Reuben) playing the very best & newest Latin Music for all dance levels - including; Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Cha, Zouk & Bachata. music starts at 8:30pm.

Beginners Hip Hop Dance Courses:
• Free 1st Class (beginner level only) • Course Length: 6 weeks • Join in anytime • Level: Beginner, no experience needed • All ages
For all ages, come learn how to hit the beat and move to the music. You will learn sets of choreography that will use various elements of hip hop dancing, which include waving, body rolls and gliding etc. After breaking down the choreography part by part it will be put together to form a smooth, beat hitting set. Doesn't matter what experience you have. Once you have finished the beginners level you can progress to the next level below.

Intermediate Hip Hop Classes:
• Course Length: N/A • Join in anytime after beginners • Level: Intermediate & Beyond • All ages
Once you have completed Beginners, or if you are already have experience learning Hip Hop before you can try this level. This is a continuous class or a "drop-in" class.

Learn to dance Argentine Tango, Tango Classes Argentine Tango is a beautiful Latin dance that originated in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is a lead and follow dance and is often described as 'walking with a partner and the music'.
Beginners Tango Level: In our Beginners course you will learn the basics steps of Argentine Tango. Also you will begin to work on some fundamental techniques such as footwork, balance and rhythm. The Beginners Tango courses are designed to be fun & friendly, so don't worry if you have had no dance experience before. These offer a great opportunity to meet new people and act as a stepping stone to our Next levels in Tango.

Bachata (Traditional) Beginners Class: For Beginners in Bachata, starting from the beginning, this is a fun class & your first one is FREE. If you have done this course before there will be some new combos. Once you have completed the bachata open level course, or have done beginners Bachata, you could progress the next level in Bachata when they appear.
Bachata Styles? • Traditional Style Bachata is the most simple, great to start with. It also has the most Dominican style influences. • Bachata Moderna style is "Tango" influenced Bachata with more complex fundamentals • Bachata Tango is a new style that has even more tango influence with new fundamentals & is popular in Italy & Spain.
