What is a shine? a shine is simply when you break away from your dance partner and do footwork to the Mambo section of the music. Or for performers 'facing the audience'.
TO SHINE…OR NOT TO SHINE…? Shines are a vital and exciting element within Salsa. When we first start salsa most of us have to get used to the whole ‘partner’ idea, which at first seems to be a strange ‘invasion of space’; After a while, we get so ‘comfortable’ with simply holding hands and tying and untying knots, that the thought of letting go and ‘shining’ on our own becomes quite confronting. We don’t know what to do with our feet or our bodies, and the shapings and ‘moods’ of some steps may be a little unfamiliar at first. However shines are really liberating! It allows the leader and follower equal possession and enjoyment of the song, without breaking the ‘partnership’ bond. To avoid them is missing out on half the experience of salsa. Shines should not overtake the dance, but it is an exciting break in patterns to watch and is great fun to do.
What Level is it?: Anyone can give it a go, however we will be aiming it to these levels: Improvers, Intermediate & beyond.
Learn a Salsa shine dance pattern, this will be like a mini routine each week and it will show you how to fit footwork into salsa music.
On1 & On2? You will be learning how to dance shines On1 & On2 conversions.
Partners?: No partner is needed, this is footwork only. This workshop is for Men & Ladies!

Social Night - Totally Fun filled & Hot. Drink and dance the night away. Every Thursday night . Come down and have a look, a drink and have a dance! Anyone can come, this night is for everybody at all levels, dancers and non-dancers. Great atmosphere, great dance floor and sound system. Get some space on the dance floor - come down earlier from 8:30pm-9:30pm there is plently of space to dance, then from 10pm onward its usually very busy.
Music & DJ - Top DJ (Reuben) playing the very best & newest Latin Music for all dance levels - including; Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Cha, Zouk & Bachata. music starts at 8:30pm.
Come Earlier - Any time from 5pm, feel free to wander in before the start time, soak in the sun, have a drink from the awesome cocktail menu or selections of nibbles.

Salsa On2 Class Start Date(s): Intermediate - Monday 8:30pm 28th June (2 weeks course only)

Salsa On2? Mambo is basically Salsa danced on the On2 count. This style of salsa dancing originated in New York and has taken the world by storm. Mambo has a very smooth feel to it compared to Salsa On1 "which we teach in all our normal Salsa Classes", you'll learn to dance to the On2 Rhythms & percussion, so come learn how to dance Salsa in a new & exciting way.

Intermediate Level Info: Aimed at those Improvers, Intermediate & Upper Intermediate & Advanced who already know Salsa On1 & know the conversion from On1 to On2. This is a more challenging level that uses Intermediate level combos & footwork to develop your On2 style & flow.

What is Belly Fit? BellyFit is a concept of Aerobic & Belly dance Moves, Dancing to Upbeat Arabic music, it adds an exotic touch to your exercise. Includes lots of hip shaking, great for toning your stomach,buttocks and thighs! This class is suitable for both men and women. Hannah focuses on Basic Belly dance combinations. No previous Belly dance experience required.

Learn to dance Argentine Tango, Tango Classes Argentine Tango is a beautiful Latin dance that originated in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is a lead and follow dance and is often described as 'walking with a partner and the music'.
Beginners Tango Level: In our Beginners course you will learn the basics steps of Argentine Tango. Also you will begin to work on some fundamental techniques such as footwork, balance and rhythm. The Beginners Tango courses are designed to be fun & friendly, so don't worry if you have had no dance experience before. These offer a great opportunity to meet new people and act as a stepping stone to our Next levels in Tango.

Bachata (Traditional) Beginners Class: For Beginners in Bachata, starting from the beginning, this is a fun class & your first one is FREE. If you have done this course before there will be some new combos. Once you have completed the bachata open level course, or have done beginners Bachata, you could progress the next level in Bachata when they appear.
Bachata Styles? • Traditional Style Bachata is the most simple, great to start with. It also has the most Dominican style influences. • Bachata Moderna style is "Tango" influenced Bachata with more complex fundamentals • Bachata Tango is a new style that has even more tango influence with new fundamentals & is popular in Italy & Spain.
